We are so proud of our 8th graders as they embark on this year's production of Into the Woods Jr. Students have been contributing to costume and set design as well as playing the colorful roles of Baker's Wife, Witch, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella's Prince and more!

3rd Grade Recorder Begins Again This Year!
As Solomon Schechter’s new music director, I am thrilled to meet every one your children as we embark on our musical journeys together. This year, plan on plenty of performance opportunities for SSDS students including holiday concerts and more.
I am happy to announce that this year we will be continuing the tradition of third grade recorder class. Recorder is a great way for your child to become enthusiastic about learning an instrument, as well as to understand basic concepts of melody and rhythm. The school will be ordering recorders from the Macie company, and a recorder plus an instruction book costs only $7.75. As has been done in past years, we will be collecting money for recorders during the first month of school. Please fill out a check for the proper amount to Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford and have your child bring the check to class by September 25th.
